What do you think about the media coverage of the beheading of Buffalo-area woman Aasiya Hassan? I came across the story as it was breaking — but only because I was on the site looking for information on that Feb. 12 commuter plane crash in Buffalo. I expected the story to be huge because the prime suspect in the killing was Hassan’s husband, Muzzammil Hassan. (more…)

UNITED NATIONS (CNN) — Sexual exploitation and forced labor are the most common forms of human trafficking in the world, a new report from the U.N. Office on Drugs and Crime said.

Macho Macho Man

Did you watch the Super Bowl with your family? With your young sons and daughters? How do you explain to your daughter, Danica Patrick famous Indy Race Car driver, wearing next to nothing getting into the shower, the subject of a young guy’s fantasy? How do you explain the Dorito commercial where everytime the guy bit into the Dorito the clothes would come flying off the beautiful woman?

I personally loved watching the game but the commercials sickened me. They are a reflection of where we are at in 2009. Treating women like objects for our amusement.
